Company Overview

wastewater treatment technology. This game-changing product is aimed at solving multimillion
dollar pain points for large corporations in a wide range of industrial markets including oil sands,
refineries, mineral processing, pharmaceuticals and textiles. Axine’s technology is a uniquely
disruptive approach to treating challenging toxic industrial pollutants at up to 10X lower cost,

Position
Axine is seeking a Product Development Engineer to play a key role in the commercialization
and development of the technology. Reporting to and working closely with the SVP Engineering
& Operations, this position will be responsible for process design and optimization of Axine’s
prototype and pilot units from concept to performance testing and validation. This will involve
close collaboration and coordination with CTO, design consultants and suppliers. Axine is
seeking an outstanding individual with a diverse, well-rounded set of skills and a proven track
record executing and delivering similar types of assignments in a fast-moving and dynamic
environment of a growing technology company.
Responsibility

Required Skills and Experience








Minimum B.S. degree in engineering physics, chemical engineering or process engineering
10+ Years of experience in multi-disciplinary product and technology development and
commercialization.
Strong multi-disciplinary technical skills – knowledge of fluid flow, mass transfer, materials
science, electrochemistry, catalysis and process kinetics
Experience in the design, build and evaluation of prototypes, as well as in the analysis of
failure modes in a product development environment
Ability to perform a wide variety of functions in a start-up environment
Hands-on and troubleshooting experience
Strong bench-top and pilot scale capabilities
Ability to design, build & run experiments








Develop and implement experimental and analysis tools
Prototyping, verification and validation
Use scientific and engineering principles to solve problems
Develop and evaluate process designs to meet performance requirements
Develop improved theoretical understanding of complex multi-physics phenomena via
theoretical and/or computational approaches supplemented by the interpretation of
experimental results
Excellent critical thinking, analysis, and problem solving; excellent written & verbal
communication skills
Self-motivated, proactive, flexible and passionate about learning
Strong organizational and decision making skills
Desirable Characteristics




Experience in scaling up new technologies – from lab prototypes through early field pilots to
commercial deployment
Knowledge with the principles of Design for Manufacture (DFM) and experience with
implementation in a product designed for high volume manufacture
Work well under pressure
Self-starter
