Zones
The zones are identified by the Brisbane City Plan 2000.
Zone A – MP1 – City Centre. Applies to both sides of any boundary road, but does not include
Queen Street and Valley Malls.
Zone B – MP2 – Major Centre. Applies to both sides of any boundary road.
Zone C – other areas of Brisbane.
Exemption from fees
Materials and equipment deposited on a footway, and temporary uses, in areas outside of the CBD
or on a Main Road, for less than 48 hours are exempt from application and permit fees provided the
safe passage of pedestrians is maintained.
Organisations listed in Appendix A of the Brisbane City Council Schedule of Fees and Charges and
not-for-profit educational, child care and sporting organisations (statutory declaration required) are
exempt from the above fees.

charge for a minor or administrative amendment, only e.g. postal address change or licence
details correction change.
Plans and accompanying specifications or details are required for an entirely new application, a
significant amendment or an expansion of activities. This attracts a design requirement
assessment fee.
