WELCOME VISTA PEAK PREP FAMILIES!!! It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the
Vista PEAK P-20 Campus! The staff at Vista PEAK is excited and honored to have you with us for the 2015-2016 school
year. Our innovative and progressive program is designed on the belief that: “Education must be real-world and relevant,
innovative and connected; where staff and students thrive with choice and responsibility; to cultivate creativity and
invention.” The Vista PEAK Campus Vision: “To ensure every student who enters the Vista PEAK Campus graduates with a
high school diploma, college credits and/or degrees, industry credentials and certifications in order to be successful in
postsecondary and workforce experiences.”
We have just celebrated our second graduating class and are excited to work with your students this year. It is amazing to see
how much we have accomplished in such a short period of time. Some examples of our recent successes include:







Vista PEAK Preparatory has one of the highest 4 year on time public school graduation rates in the state. 2014 Graduation
rate: 80.33% (4.93% above the state average & the highest 4 year graduation rate APS has seen in over a decade)
Gained “NO PLACE FOR HATE” designation for the fourth year from the anti-defamation league for our efforts in antibullying and courageous conversations as well as our celebrations around culture, heritage, gender, and race
Our PEAK Achievement Awards Ceremony was a huge success as we literally packed the auditorium to celebrate our young
Bison scholars, musicians, and artists
With 254 students taking college courses last year, a total of 396.4 college credits were earned. Vista PEAK families saved
$79,200 on college credits.
Our class of 2015 had over 1.8 million dollars in scholarships.
VP Athletics had three league championships in Boys Basketball, Girls Golf and Girls Tennis. We had three Colorado 7
Coaches of the Year, We have our first CHSCA All-State Football player, First Individual State Champion in any sport, 2
Colorado 7 Player of the Year winners and countless all-conference athletes.
Our Performing Arts program is growing and continued to receive many district and state accolades.
Important Updates for the 2015-16 school year are as follows:








Freshman Orientation is Aug 10th 9:00 – 11:00 AM.
The first day of school for PREP students grades 9th-12th is August 11th
Fall athletics opening program: Aug. 12th 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM. All students and parents interested in participating in any fall
athletics must attend
Back to School Night: Aug. 20th 6-7:30. Parents and students will go through their students schedule in 10 minute rotations
There will also be opportunity for parents to meet the Administrators.
Homecoming Week is September 21- 26th. The Homecoming football game will Sept. 26th at 1:00 PM vs. Weld Central
here at Vista Peak Preparatory. The Homecoming activities will be a week long celebration, with the parade and festival
here at VP being celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 26.
