The Romans
Over the next term please complete one activity from the table below each week. Please make sure you
record your research in your books.
Can you find out some facts about
Rome?
Can you research some ancient
Roman jobs?
Which job would you like and why?
Can you create a fact file on some
of the Roman Gods?
Can you create a non-chronological
report on a traditional Roman game?
Can you draw and label an ancient
Roman soldier?
Can you create a Roman weapon,
piece of armour, jewellery or dress?
Can you find out anymore facts
about Roman soldiers?
Please also research what you have
created, as I will ask questions.
Can you create a fact file on a famous
person from Roman times?
Can you create a true or false quiz
for the Romans?
For example: According to
legend, Rome was founded by
the twin brothers Romulus and
Remus in 753 BC.
True or false?
Remember: to include an overview,
subheadings, write in the 3rd person
and to use technical vocabulary.
Make sure you record it in your
books to play with your friends.
Could you use subheadings in your
work?
Can you research some Roman
myths? Pick your favourite and
produce a recount.
Remember to include the
beginning, middle and end of the
myth, record in your own words
and use key vocabulary.
This could be over two weeks. Can
you create a game using Roman
numerals and then write your
instructions.
There are lots of famous landmarks
in Rome. Can you research some of
them?
Don’t forget to include your time
connectives and bossy verbs.
