‘Boosting’ a creative start-up ecosystem Global challenges and policy indications for Lazio

Region is the international appointment to analyze opportunities and instruments for local ecosystems to unleash the potential of Creative Industries as key driver of the knowledge economy and global competitiveness.

The Rome event wants to catch the eye of regional and European Institutions, accelerators,

Venture Capitalists and Business Angels to ways of collaborating to improve the prospect of startups in the sector.

In this context, Lazio Region is strongly pursuing better ways to integrate European, national and regional policies and to endorse for a successful Creative entrepreneurship.

Thinking “local” in the field of innovation and job creation, requires a “global” knowledge and integration with European and worldwide policies, activities and funding.

The event is divided into two important moments :

October, 2 nd

Participants will have the opportunity to get in contact with the Lazio Region ecosystem by:

• taking a look at the accelerators,

• getting in contact with startups,

• talking with regional stakeholders.

• hearing from talents.

October, 3 rd

• The morning session will represent an important exchange of views between Lazio

Regional Government, European institutions, top-notch speakers, Large Companies open to innovation and startup experiences on the existing initiatives for entrepreneurship, creativity Industries and innovative ecosystems

• In the afternoon a panel discussion on "How to foster Entrepreneurship", with participants from the world of business accelerators in Europe and worldwide, will discuss how to support the early-stage businesses.

Great importance will be given to startups that have the opportunity to present their project to an audience of investors through a pitching session and to meet potential partners.

The event in Rome is the third appointment of the European Initiative FAME after Copenhagen

(Creative Business Cup/Nov. 2013) and Heidelberg (Heidelberg Innovation Forum/Apr. 2014) and aims at drawing up and submitting to the ECIA Policy Learning Platform its own 'policy recommendations' for the creation, support and equity financing of European creative startups.
