MAITH THÚ
A big massive well done to: Bethany McElroy the winner of the Christmas Card Competition
for Newry & Mourne Enterprise Agency. The school will receive 200 copies of this card,
professionally printed, etc. and we will sell these in the run up to Christmas to raise school
funds. We are all delighted about this fantastic win by Bethany, and it is a great fundraising
opportunity for us.
OPEN NIGHT
The annual Open Night was held in school on Wednesday 3rd Dec, we were delighted to see
a good crowd of parents come to view the great work taking place in the Naíscoil and
Bunscoil. Members of Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta, Tomás Dáibhís GAC and the Board of
Governors were there to formally announce the proposal from Tomás Dáibhís GAC to relocate Bunscoil an Iúir to their site at Doran’s Hill. This is a very suitable site for all as it has
good access from the by-pass. The overall plan is that Naíscoil provision would be available
on the site from September 2015. By September 2016, the 3 local Naíscoil would feed into
the project resulting in a statutory Naíscoil coming under the umbrella of Bunscoil an
Iúir. We are very excited about this new venture in the history of Bunscoil an Iúir and hope
that with the huge effort that is being put into the project, it will soon come to fruition.
Further information will be given as we progress with the development
INTERNAL AUDIT
We are to have an Internal Audit Attendance Inspection shortly. I would like to stress once
again the importance of providing the school with a reason why a child is absent or late. We
will need to present this information to the Department at this Inspection. They may wish
to take the matter up directly with you. A phone call, and or an email/letter is a must at all
times.

active member of our Parent Teacher Association.
