School-Parent Activity Plan 2011-2012
Our school believes that parent involvement is essential to the academic success of our children.
Our parents are involved in the decisions regarding how the 1% reserved fund will be used for
parental involvement. The input was gathered from the 2010-2011 Parent Survey that was sent
home January 2011.

Title I School Wide Parent Orientation/Target/PTA Meeting 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Open House is for all families, parents and guardians. Parents will have an opportunity to meet the
principal, meet their child’s teachers and gain important information about the school programs and
curriculum.

W.O.W. - ‘Working on Winning’ parent workshop 6-6:30 p.m. at McCall Primary
Titled: What makes a good conference?
17th W.O.W. - ‘Working on Winning’ parent workshop 12-1:00 p.m. at Acworth ES
Titled: ‘Parents on Board’ The workshop will provide information to help your
child with school work, set up a study smart environment at home and how to
support your child by being an involved parent.

Mad Scientist Family Night
Event will take place in the Cafeteria 6:30-8:00 p.m.
The activities are CCSD curriculum based for Grades 1-5. Teachers & students will assist at each
station.
Reach for the Stars Parent Meeting 6:00-6:30 p.m.
‘Lights on After School’
This day calls the attention to the importance of afterschool programs for America’s children,
families, and communities so children are not left unsupervised at home.
24th-28th Parent -Teacher Conference Week
Conferences provide an opportunity for you to be involved in your child’s education
* CCSD Title I documents will be distributed during conference week.
NOVEMBER

“What can you do to help your child with math?
Methods and model drawing techniques will be demonstrated to assist you at home.

Grandparents Thanksgiving Luncheon
