Jackson, Ryan Pucket, Laryn Hilderbrandt, Nolan Calhoun, Gretchen Mosby, Tony Piedmonte, and Cameron Hubbard were sworn in as new senators.

Sarah Hazelip, KJ Hall, Madison Keller, and Hannah Neeper were nominated to serve as our homecoming representative.

Chief of Staff- Seth Church: I have a resolution in first read with two attached portions, so please look at that. The resolution concerns a nonsectarian prayer policy. I received an email today from a faculty member on the Elizabethtown/Fort Knox Campus, and they are interested in establishing an SGA branch on their campus. The office will be closed for fall break. We will hopefully have our conference room ready soon. Dr. Miller is the Chief Diversity Office for

WKU, and he has agreed to release our Campus Diversity Survey. University Senate has recommended that ATP be made mandatory for all students, and also a mandatory Title IX video that all students would watch on their incoming year.

Director of Public Relations- KJ Hall: We are so glad that our new senators are with us tonight. The Herald will publish a correction article on their article they did last week on us. We just had new signs made that we will place on easels around DSU. The Student Alumni

Association is selling red towels for five dollars. New senators, we have tee-shirts and polos available for you all in our office.

Director of Academic and Student Affairs- Barrett Greenwell: Congratulations to our new senators. October 17 th

will be the deadline for all our scholarships for courses in the winter and spring. I wanted to address concerns surrounding our funding of the Bridegroom Project, and I will move at our executive meeting tonight that we fund the program with an additional 100 dollars.

Director of Information Technology- Sarah Hazelip: On our home page online, we added a new photo promoting the Winter Term scholarships.

Academic Affairs- Josh Knight: Our committee handles study away scholarships, study abroad scholarships, development grants, and anything that students bring to us that has to deal with academic affairs. We have a bill up today in unfinished business.

Campus Improvements- Tyler Scaff: We are the committee responsible for improving the campus for students. We are the “go-getters,” having meetings and personal interactions with students. The topics which we have been dealing with recently concern our garden plot in the community garden and the commuter parking focus group which has met with PTS administration. We had a very productive meeting last week with the commuter parking focus group. We are interested in integrating an app function into the iWKU app that would indicate parking available at WKU’s current lots and other improvements. One of our senators, Zach

Jones, has a meeting with the Director of Intermural Recreation with installing a few sand volleyball courts on campus.

Legislative Research- Paige Settles: My committee essentially ensures that all bills conform to legislative research between first and second read. We don’t have too many members on the

committee, but please talk to me if you are interested. Seth and Liz please see me after today’s meeting for upcoming bills.

Public Relations- James Line: Welcome to the new senators, and our committee deals with

WKU’s efforts to promote itself. We work with KJ to do so, and if you are interested in an opportunity dealing with communications, journalism, or advertising, this is an excellent opportunity for that.

Student Affairs- Kasey Glasgow: We award all the winter and summer scholarships, and then we basically serve as a “catch-all” for all business that does not fall under other committees.

University Committee Reports:

Undergraduate Curriculum Committee : Nolan Miles discussed how the committee has made recent changes to select course goals and how certain courses were eliminated from WKU offerings.

Chief Justice- Kara Raley: No report.
