When should I apply for graduation?
You should consult your faculty advisor on whether you will have completed all requirements for graduation for that
term before applying for graduation.
How do I apply for graduation?
There is an application for graduation on MyNevada – your graduation status has to indicate “Eligible for Graduation” in
order to be able to submit an application
How do I find capstone course offerings?
1. Select the Year and Term for the search
2. Click on “Additional Search Criteria”
3. At the bottom of the page, click on the magnifying glass next to “Course Attribute”
4. Click “Core”
5. Click on the 2nd magnifying glass that appears next to “is equal to”
6. Select the “CAPGENERAL” for general capstone courses or “CAPMAJOR” for major capstone course
7. Click the green “Search” button
I have enrolled in a class at another institution during my final semester that is required for graduation – what do I
need to do to ensure my credits transfer?
It is your responsibility to request that a final transcript showing the grade you earned in the course is sent to UNR’s
Admissions & Records office by the deadline date sent to you in an e mail letter by Christina Cho in the Dean’s Office.
I have transfer credits from a different institution – how can I check to see if the credits have been transferred and
how they have been articulated?
In your Student Center page in MyNevada, there is a drop down menu window – select “Transfer Credit: Report” to view
how the university’s Admissions & Records articulate the transfer courses.
Can I participate in commencement (aka walk) before I have completed all of my requriements?
If you are within 12 credits of completing all requirements for graduation and in good academic standing (all GPAs are at
least 2.0), you can complete an “Application to Participate in Commencement” Form found on the Academic Central
website on the “Forms” page and submit it to Admissions & Records.

What do I do if my Advising Audit Report (AAR) is not reflecting a substitution or waiver I discussed with my advisor?
Contact your faculty advisor – he/she can generate and complete an exception form to request substitutions and/or
waivers for your major that will be sent to the College of Science Dean’s office for final approval before being sent to
Admissions & Records for processing.
