Where are they now?
Know an awesome Key Alumnus you think we should celebrate? Someone who is doing
something amazing with their life? Someone who has done something really interesting?
We all want to know! Remember, it doesn’t have to be academic or career-related – anything
counts.
Send us an email at scarletkey.alumni@mcgill.ca with a photo and a small blurb about this
exceptional fellow Key (please make sure that you have their permission first).
Happy Holidays Fellow Keys!
First, we’d like to thank you for helping to make our 2012 events such a success.
Here’s a brief recap:
Terry Fox Run
This year’s run was a huge success, and we look forward to participating again next year!
Scarlet Keys, McGill students and friends are pictured with Terry Fox Run legend Peter Sheremeta, BCom’91,
(holding frame), Director of the Terry Fox Foundation – Quebec region. This was Peter’s 32nd race.
Mix and Mingle
Scarlet Key Society
We held a fun night out at Thomson House on October 2. Lots of current Keys showed up and the event
proved to be a great way to get to know each other.
The First Annual Leadership Conference
This year marked the first in what we hope will be a long line of Leadership Conferences. During
Homecoming Weekend in October, we invited three Scarlet Key recipients from various backgrounds
and careers to come talk to a group of Keys, current students and alumni about what leadership means
to them, how to be a good leader, and how leadership can change over the course of your life.
All three panelists spoke about leadership in different ways: from leadership in everyday life, leadership
to effect social change, and leadership in your career. There were lots of questions from the audience
and it was truly a memorable night. We’re grateful to our speakers Jonathan McPhedran-Waitzer,
Dr. Robert Primavesi and Neil Murdoch for sharing their time and wisdom and for making this night
absolutely incredible!

Scarlet Key Homecoming Brunch

Keys show their colours at this year’s brunch at McGill’s historic Faculty Club. As always, it was an
absolute pleasure to get to meet our fellow Keys and reminisce about days gone by.
