Earthquakes
Oceanic-oceanic, Convergent.
Thursday, February 28, 2013. Outside Vanuatu there was an earthquake with a magnitude of
6.1 on the Seismic scale at 3:09 UTC (Universal time coordinated). The depth was 15.10km
which is 9.38 miles. This is oceanic- oceanic which means that there are two plates pushing at
each other and one gets pushed under which causes a lot of force and in result comes an
Earthquake.
Continental-continental convergence
Sunday March 3 2013, there was a Continental-continental convergence earthquake at 4:44
UTC with a depth of 22.40km which is 13.92 miles. The Magnitude of this earthquake was 4.5
on the Seismic scale. Continental-continental is when two continents are brought together and
become closer which creates high mountains. This happens because the oceanic lithosphere is
moving down and the Continental lithospheres are being brought together.

Monday, March 4, 2013. There was an Oceanic-continental earthquake of a magnitude of 4.3
in Taiwan region at 8:42 UTC. With a depth of 19.00km which translate to 11.81 miles.
Oceanic-continental earthquake is when oceanic plate is pushing against the continental plate
and the oceanic plate goes under the continental plate which causes a huge amount of force
and in result starts an earthquake.
Transform.
Saturday, march 2, 2013. There was a Transform earthquake in Potosí, Bolivia. With a
magnitude of 4.6 and a depth of 237.30 KM which is 147.45 miles, at 12:56 UTC. The reason
this earthquake happen was because two plates were sliding horizontally against each other
and caused great force which lead to the earthquake.
Divergent
Tuesday, February 26, 2013 there was a Divergent earthquake which means there were two
plates pulling away from each other tearing plates apart and creating new crust which has
amazing force which leads to an earthquake. This earthquake had a magnitude of 5.1 and a
depth of 44.19KM which translate to 27.40 miles, and the earthquake started at 15:57:31.
