research. The intent is to award grants to doctoral candidates who are conducting research in

National Institutes of Mental Health Mental Health Research Dissertation Grant to Improve Diversity
The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), issued by the National Institute of
Mental Health (NIMH), is to increase the diversity of the mental health research workforce by providing
dissertation awards in all areas of research within the strategic priorities of the NIMH to individuals from
diverse backgrounds underrepresented in mental health research to support the completion of the
doctoral research project.

Marine Resource Economics – Sea Grant Fellowships
The Graduate Fellowship Program generally awards two new PhD fellowships each year to students who
are interested in careers related to the development and implementation of quantitative methods for
assessing the economics of the conservation and management of living marine resources. Fellows will
work on thesis problems of public interest and relevance to NMFS under the guidance of NMFS mentors
at participating NMFS Science Centers or Laboratories. The NMFS-Sea Grant Fellowships in Marine
Resource Economics meets NOAA's Mission goal of "Protect, Restore and Manage the Use of Coastal
and Ocean Resources Through Ecosystem-Based Management". Eligibility: Must be U.S. Citizen

Philadelphia Area Center for the History of Science Research Fellowships and Dissertation Fellowships
The Center offers short-term Research Fellowships and nine-month Dissertation Writing Fellowships for
scholars in the history of science, technology and medicine. Fellows use offices in the Center’s facility in
Center City Philadelphia and have ready access to events and activities at consortium member
institutions as well as throughout Philadelphia’s vibrant academic and cultural communities. The
Dissertation Writing Fellows receive a stipend of $23,000. Fellows are expected to spend the academic
year at the Center and to participate in our events.

de Duve Institute of Cellular Pathology Postdoctoral Fellowship
The de Duve Institute in Brussels awards 1-year fellowships, which are renewable once, to young foreign
scientists, who wish to carry out their post-doctoral research within one of the research groups in the
Institute. Candidates must hold a PhD, MD or equivalent degree to be eligible.

Intelligence Community Postdoctoral Research Fellowship
The program was established to fund unclassified, basic research in areas of interest to the Intelligence
Community, from behavior and language to energy and atmosphere. The program annually funds

throughout the United States. Senior scientists in the Intelligence Community identify critical research

Molecular Evolution Fellowships
Postdoctoral Fellowships in Molecular Evolution are available to support research that uses the
resources and research opportunities offered at the National Zoological Park (Washington, D.C.), the
National Museum of Natural History (Washington, D.C.) or the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute
(Panama). Stipend is $45,000 for one year (12 months) to $90,000 for two years (24 months)
