For over 20 years I have had the honor of being a
member of Conn-Weissenberger Post 587, the
camaraderie and the fun we share has been a joy. One
thing I have learned over the years is that it is not a one
person show, it takes all of us together to run the post
and to support the programs of the American Legion.
Which brings me to my point, at the last meeting we
barely had enough to hold it, of the 400+ members only
3% showed up and it’s the same 3% ever meeting. What
is keeping you away? On to other things, I want to take
this time to thank all of the members who stepped
forward and ran for an elected office it is nice to see
some new people. It is also great to see PC Jim as the
2nd Vice and PC Chet as 1st Vice and we all need to keep
our eye on the New 3rd Vice Bruce he is a real up and
coming Legionary. On top of these great officers we
have several chairmen that are doing a great job so thank
you to all of them for all their hard work. So you see we
have a great Legion Post and we would love to have you
back.

your dues as soon as possible, just to keep the Post ahead

jewelry! Lots of raffles and a great variety of food!
Even Smaug the felted Dragon was there!
You may have seen him on channel 13 as he was
featured on the 6 and 11 O’clock news from the Art-OMatic 419 show which was held downtown. Thanks to
Bruce and Margret-Ann, the Fiber Guild and venders for
this amazing show.
The Poppy FundWhat a year for Poppies!!! From bake sales to
book ales to Neil Diamond tribute to Poppy Day to
winning two first place awards for poppy projects!
Many thanks to the Legion, Auxiliary and the Sons for
their participation on poppy day. Now that’s team work.
