Collect for Advent 2
O Lord Jesus Christ, who at your first coming sent your messenger to prepare your way before you: grant that the
ministers and stewards of your mysteries may likewise so prepare and make ready your way by turning the hearts of
the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, that at the second coming to judge the world we may be found an
acceptable people in your sight; for are alive and reign with the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now
and forever. Amen.
This week we pray for…
Those who are ill remembering: Margaret Suker, Michael & Eugene Stoddard, Viv Blade, & Michael Houghton.
Those who have been bereaved, especially remembering: the family and friends of Norma Keiron and George Russell.
This week…
TODAY …We light the third candle of Advent and we think of John the Baptist, cousin of Jesus Christ, who preceded
him and warned people to look out for him. How can we ‘prepare the way of the Lord’?

pictures as different people assume the characters. These photos will then be inserted into attractive Christmas
cards. We hope members of the public will all join in, but we need a few people to get us started. Can you help?
Any time between 10am and 2pm. Please contact Godfrey if you’re available. gof@blueyonder.co.uk; 724 1561.
