FIVE WAYS GOD WANTS TO SHARPEN US
1. Our Countenance
Prov. 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend
Heb. 10:24:25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up (provoke, stimulate)
love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the
manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day
approaching.
2. Our Words
Rev 1:16 ...out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword....
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is .....sharper than any two-edged sword
Eph 6:17 Take up ...the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God
Mk 1:22 Jesus taught as one having authority
Mk 11:23 You shall say to this mountain, be moved...
Prov 18:21 Life and death are in the power of the tongue
Ps. 45:1 My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition
concerning the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
3. Our Works
Ps 1:3 Whatever he does shall prosper
Ps. 18:33 He makes my feet like hind's feet of a deer and sets me on my high places.
Prov. 3:5-6 He will direct your paths (make your paths straight)
4. Against The Enemy (our spiritual enemy: satan and the kingdom of darkness)
Jn 10:10 ... the Thief comes to steal, kill, destroy..

Isa 41:14 -16 -- “Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you,” says
the LORD And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel" 15 “Behold, I will make you into
a new threshing sledge with sharp teeth; You shall thresh the mountains and beat
them small, And make the hills like chaff. 16 You shall winnow them, the wind shall
carry them away, And the whirlwind shall scatter them; You shall rejoice in the LORD,
And glory in the Holy One of Israel.
Luke 9:1-2 Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and
authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2 He sent them to preach the kingdom
of God and to heal the sick.
5. With Divine Wisdom
Ecc. 10:10 If the ax is dull, And one does not sharpen the edge, Then he must use
more strength; But wisdom brings success.
Eph 1:17 .....making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom
