Dear Graduates and Parents,
On Wednesday, May 18 th , at 7:00 p.m. Home for His Glory will be holding a graduation ceremony at Southeast Christian Church in the Chapel for the 2016 high school graduates. The graduation is open to all home schooled students not participating in any other graduation ceremony. This informational letter explains what is involved in graduation. Please review the enclosed material to determine if you can make a definite commitment to the ceremony.
A rehearsal will be held on Monday, May 16 th , at 7:00 p.m. Parents should plan to attend the rehearsal in order to sign the diplomas and rehearse their part in the ceremony. The parents’ participation in the ceremony will consist of them coming up on the stage and handing the graduate his/her diploma.
The cost of the graduation is $175 per graduate. This is non-refundable. The first payment of
$100 is due when the registration is submitted, but no later than December 15, 2015. The second payment of $75 is due February 15, 2016. You may pay in full with the initial registration, if you choose. If you are an HFHG member, there is a $15 discount, so your first payment would only be $90. YOUR GRADUATION FEE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
Cap, gown and tassel (these are yours to keep)
An encased diploma with professional calligraphy of your school name and student’s name
An emcee and speaker
Pianist and soloist
A keepsake program
One DVD of the entire ceremony
A photo DVD shown during the ceremony highlighting your student’s life from birth to graduation
Reception with cake and punch for you and your guests, ceremony decorations and senior tables
All expenses are mandatory and will need to be included in your payment in order to utilize the group discounts.

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Prompt payment of your fee
Ordering and sending your own invitations
Assembling 12 photos of your student from birth to graduation for the DVD (due March 1 st )
There are three ways you can send these to me:
1.
Attach them to an email and send them to barneschristianacademy@yahoo.com

2.
Load them on a CD and mail them to the address listed on the first page.
3.
Mail the individual pictures to the address listed on the first page (they will be returned).
Please submit a one-page biography of your student’s life, not to exceed 150 words. This biography can include activities, interests, volunteer work, travels, employment and future plans (please list any scholarships). End the biography with a life verse that your student has chosen (this is not included in the word count). This biography will be printed in the bulletin. A couple of lines of the biography will be read in the ceremony by the emcee (the class size has grown too large to read them in their entirety).
The biography is due by April 1 st and may either be emailed to me or mailed to my home address.
Your graduate will need to decorate ½ of an eight-foot table in the Fellowship hall with items that represent your student’s life and interests. Some ideas for this table are: a science fair board as a background, a basket for cards/money, baby items, trophies, musical instrument, artwork, etc. This

table will be set up the day of the rehearsal or the ceremony. Please note: No latex balloons, confetti, or glitter may be used in the building.
You are encouraged to bring your own camera for photos. Before the ceremony we will pose for a group photo on the stairway in the Atrium in front of the Chapel.
If, after reading this information, you definitely want to participate in the 2016 HFHG Graduation, please complete the enclosed registration form. Complete the online registration OR sign and mail the registration, Permission to Photograph and Video Tape form, and check by December 15, 2015.
