Solvent-based: Strong smelling, with longer drying time (about 24 hours). Can be cleaned with paint
thinner.
Water-based: Dries quickly (may or may not be desirable in hot weather or direct sunshine). Fast
cleanup with soap and water.
**Paint Finishes
Gloss: Cleans easily and resists wear and tear the best. Cracks or other damage shows up more easily
with a glossy finish.
Semi-gloss: Cleans easily and resists wear. Less shiny than gloss.
