South Worcestershire GP Services - New Telephone Consultation

Service

South Worcestershire GP Services have launched a new telephone consultation service. If you would like some clinical advice on the day that may not need an appointment at the Practice, please telephone us on 01386 765600 during normal Practice hours and press 0 to be put through to this new service. South Worcestershire GP Services - Extended Hours Appointment

Service

South Worcestershire GP Services have launched an extended hours appointment service. If you would like to be seen by a GP for a routine appointment out of our normal surgery hours at the Minor

Injuries Unit at Evesham Community Hospital, telephone us on 01386 765600 during normal Practice hours and press 0 to be put through to this new service. Appointments will be available on Fridays

6.30-8.00pm, Saturday and Sunday mornings and on Mondays 6.30-8.00pm. These hours will be extended in time. You can find more information about this service at www.swgpservices.nhs.uk

Minor Ailments

Your Pharmacist is a highly trained healthcare professional who can provide advice on common health problems and the best medicines to treat them and can prescribe for certain ailments. You no longer need to make an appointment with a GP if your ailment is listed below:

 Coughs, colds and sore throats

 Hay fever and allergies

 Rashes including eczema and athlete’s foot

 Earache, headaches and migraines

Aches and pains

Constipation and diarrhoea

Indigestions/heartburn

Bites and stings

Cold sores and mouth ulcers

Conjunctivitis

Haemorrhoids

South Worcestershire pharmacies offer a service where some medicines are available free of charge to those patients* who get free NHS prescriptions. There is no need for a prescription from your GP.

Patient Participation Group Meeting

Information will be made available following the meeting recently held to discuss how the PPG can leverage the combined practices to achieve some real outcomes that they consider relevant to PPG’s and generally NHS services in the Evesham locality, to share best practice, and how best they can use their combined strength to influence change.

‘Flu Clinics

The Practice has commenced walk in ‘flu appointments every week day for patients:

Over the page of 65

Pregnant women

Children and adults with an underlying health condition (particularly long-term heart or lung disease)

Children and adults with weakened immune systems

Anyone who is very overweight (with a body mass index over 40)

An annual flu vaccine nasal spray is also now offered to healthy children aged 2, 3 and 4 years old, and to children in school years one and 2.

We can now text you to remind you of an appointment you made in advance. If you would like this service, please let us know your mobile number. If we have your mobile number and you DO NOT want this service then please let us know and it can be blocked for you. In case your mobile is used by someone else, the wording of our text messages does not contain anything that identifies you or the reason for your appointment.

New Staff

Sister Ruth Duncan, Practice Nurse, is joining our Practice in October and will be working in our Minor

Ailments Clinic.
