Reading
This week focused on the letter
Tt and the /t/ sound. We also
worked on blending and
segmenting words.
Thank you!!
We finally made it to the pumpkin patch! Thank you to everyone for being so flexible and
understanding with the rescheduling of this trip. The kiddos had such a great time – even without
their teacher. Our rhyme this week was Pease Porridge Hot. We had fun reading the rhyme,
finding rhyming and sight words, and watching a video of the rhyme. Our rhyme next week will be
Twinkly, Twinkle Little Star. During writing we continued to work on our writing stamina along
with making our sentences more descriptive by using our five senses to add describing words. We
also learned how to stretch out a word (like a rubber band) in order to spell it. Reading groups
continued this week. Look for your child to bring home a book in a book bag about once a week
for now. This is a book that they will need to read to you. Please continue to work on rhyming
words and naming the jobs of the author and illustrator with your child. We work on these skills
every day, but some of us need some extra practice. Thank you for attending parent teacher
conferences. It was great to visit with all of you about your child’s progress. Please don’t hesitate
to contact me if you ever have a question or concern. I’m proud of how hard the children are
working. They are just a joy to be around. Thank you for sharing them with me!
Math
We worked on reading, writing
and counting 11-20. Please
continue to work on counting to
100 by 1,’s, 5’s, and 10’s.
Sight Words
Your child should know the sight
words: I, and, like, the, see & we.
They should also know the color
words green, red, blue, yellow,
purple, orange, black, pink & brown.
Religion
Our focus was on how we
care for others. We also
celebrated St. John Paul II on
Wednesday.
Play Sound Games
Practice blending sounds
into words. Ask "Can you
guess what this word is? m o - p." Hold each sound
longer than normal.
