Description of Business Environment:
The Military Solutions Business Area is responsible for a number of programmes across
a diverse range of customers in the Military market covering sectors such as Unmanned
Systems, Maritime Systems, Aerospace and Sustainment technologies. This is growing
business environment with a number of existing programmes with follow-on work and
new capture opportunities.
Specific Job Description:
Various systems engineering activities will be undertaken such as requirements analysis
and review, review of certification evidence, including associated safety, EMC, Human
Factors and airworthiness evidence, and compilation of Flight Approval Documentation
and equipment certification.
Opportunities will also arise to perform and have exposure to technical planning, system
integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness
analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product
to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and
disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product
requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and
cost constraints.

Good professional skills including:
 Ability to prioritise own tasking to meet program needs
 Knowledge of Project Management tools and techniques
Ideally require a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or
equivalent experience / combined education.
Standard Job Description:
Selected employees to perform tasks and assignments over a 2 year programme to
emphasise development of technical, professional and interpersonal skills in a structured
framework within the engineering disciplines, such as software, mechanical, electrical,
and systems. Participates in specific training opportunities under the graduate
programme involving IET/LM Manual for professional development, mentoring, role
experience and graduate projects. Candidates for this position are selected following
completion of a bachelors degree and assessed by the graduate board and BU
Leadership team as possessing requisite skills and abilities for future career
development.
