CILIP Ireland is offering a bursary worth approximately £2800 to support one participant undertaking the two year PGDip in Library and Information Management at the University of Ulster.
In order to be considered for this bursary, candidates must be a member of CILIP, should have been accepted onto the LIM course by the University, and in a position to take up a place on the LIM course scheduled to start in September 2014 in the School of Education.

In not more than 300 words please state your personal and professional motivation for undertaking the PGDip in Library and Information Management.


Conditions

The successful applicant will be required to join the CILIP Ireland Committee as a Student
Liaison Officer (*see description below).

He/ she must be available to participate in CILIP Irelands Annual Open Day/AGM and the
Annual Joint Conference.

If the applicant withdraws or is unsuccessful in completing the course, the bursary is to be repaid to CILIP Ireland.

The successful applicant must sign a document agreeing to these conditions.
A sub-group of the CILIP Ireland Committee will consider the applications. The successful applicant
(if any) will be announced on the 18 th of August. In the event of no application being deemed suitable, no award will be made. The assessors will not enter into any correspondence following the decision.

The SLO is a main point of contact for enquiries from students of Library and Information Studies in the region. This includes promoting the benefits of CILIP membership and organising training/ networking opportunities for students. While the main focus would be Library and Information
Management students at the University of Ulster it would also include students working in Northern
Ireland but undertaking distance learning Library and Information Courses.
