Upstream Americas searches for and recovers oil and natural gas across the Americas. Many of these activities are carried out as joint

Exploration and Commercial is accountable for exploration, commercial activities, new business development, hydrocarbon maturation,

Responsibilities:
Principal Accountabilities:
The primary responsibility of the Staff Contracts Representative is to handle the development, negotiation, drafting and management of
EP Petroleum Contracts & Agreements typically within a geographical area and serve as the commercial subject matter expert related to
the full EP lifecycle.
The range of agreements and scope of responsibilities includes but is not limited to oil and gas leases, alternative energy leases and
related joint ventures, Exchange Agreements, licenses, Purchase & Sale, Joint Operating Agreements (JOA’s), Farmouts, Farmins, Bidding
Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, production sharing agreements, rights-of-way, surface use agreements or other petroleum
agreements in support of exploring for and producing hydrocarbons. Accountabilities could include commercial advice to unconventional or
nontraditional projects, particularly in reference to land use and securing land rights for surface operations.
Also included are other petroleum agreements dealing with the ownership, equity and operating rights in onshore US oil and gas
investments.
Participate in special projects or other activities as business needs require across onshore US.
Key Accountabilities:
This assignment will be accountable for a specific geographic area of the Onshore US containing active EP assets residing in the
exploration, development and/or production phase of the EP lifecycle. The function will:
• Interface directly with the Exploration Venture Leaders, Development and Production Asset Leader(s) or other managers responsible for
exploring and managing the specified assets.
• Be the commercial representative on any number of Technical or Asset Teams associated with the full EP lifecycle or alternative energy
projects.
• Be the commercial representative on new entry opportunities (organically developed or purchased from a third party).
• Provide commercial guidance to the Asset and Technical Leaders relative to EP upstream commercial agreements to deliver the Business
Plan.
• Be an external interface with EP Commercial contract parties, joint venture partners and other key stakeholders.
• Administer Petroleum Contract provisions (i.e. Operation proposals, AFEs, Partner meetings, Field Reviews, Audit issues).
• Negotiate and prepare legal documents and contracts to record the terms and conditions of commercial agreements.
• Coordinate internal reviews of commercial agreements by the finance, legal, tax, and other appropriate functions.
• Evaluate and frame EP opportunities. Undertake due diligence using commercial/land skills deployed in the acquisition and divestiture of
EP assets.
Requirements:
• Minimum 8+ years of land and contracts experience, preferably with exposure to onshore land activities.
• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management/Commerce, Business or related field from an accredited
university? MBA or Law Degree preferred.
• Hands on commercial transactions or operations desk experience.
• Willing to travel up to 20% which could include both domestic and international.
The successful candidate;
- Will be commercially responsible for a certain geographic area within the onshore US to acquire, develop and/or divest of EP assets and
provide commercial advice to line management.
- Will supervise and coordinate the activity of field contract brokers (numbers may vary depending on the range of the opportunity).
- Will be expected to be flexible to business needs across onshore land and contracts with clear enterprise first behaviors with US travel
and temporary field assignments as business needs require.
- Must have the ability to perform in a fast paced, sometimes intense, working environment. The job will require the ability to successfully
interface with multiple functional management lines, technical team members, industry partners, and service providers.
Primary challenge will be to step into a high volume, operations desk with complex commercial structures and short term obligations.
Many of our operations desk support many customers, so multi-tasking is essential.
Travel and field assignments are expected as business needs require.
