Foxes Piece School Marathon
By Gabriel (Year 4)
On Friday 24th April, we did a whole school marathon. Mrs Haskey
worked out that if the whole school ran around the field it would be
the length of a marathon. This means that we would run 26 miles!
In assembly Sam (Mrs Barry’s) son came to talk about the London
marathon because he was entering it! Cadhla thought it was
awesome and Miss Irvine agrees “It is great that the children can
now say that they all have participated in a marathon.” Megan said
“that although it was really tiring, it was great fun.”
Foxes Piece hopes that we have got some future Marathon
Runners!
Smashing Saxons
By Sean and Gabriel (Year 4)
On Thursday 23rd April year 4 went to
the Chiltern open air museum to learn
about the Anglo-Saxons and archaeology.
When they went there they did amazing
activities like making daub, they
thatched, tried on a helmet and made
brooches.
Olivia said “my favourite part of the trip
was when we went inside a round
house.”
At lunchtime, the class got the chance to
go see week old lambs.
We were even able to touch one! Jodie said,
“I liked the lambs, they were soft and small.”
After
lunchtime
we
learnt
about
Archaeologists
and they had to dig for
artefacts.
Year 4 had a brilliant trip and wishes to go
again!
Sky Studios
By Rebecca, Mollee and Jodie
On Wednesday 16th April, Year 5 went to Sky
Skills Studio for a school trip. First, we went to

When we walked through this mini alley we saw
the building it was huge. Then we met our body
guards and put our lunch down on this colourful
desk. We talked about sky and what we’re
being doing during the day. After that, we set
off to film our video we had a tour round the
studios.
As a class, we were split into groups and where
given a role, Mollee was a cameraman;
she said “I enjoyed this because I got
to use a real camera.” Rebecca said,
“the whole trip was really good
because you got to pick costumes and
be on TV.”

I Got Up Late for School
Book Review
I got up late for school today,
And nearly missed the bus!
I hurried down the stairs,
Wolfed my toast, and caused a fuss!
I quickly threw books in my bag,
My pens, my lunch and shorts.
Grabbed my coat from out the
cupboard,
Took my bat and ball for sports.
I slid across the kitchen floor,
And hopped around the cat!
Then expertly rolled over,
Jumped back up and grabbed my hat!
I belted out of our front door,
Spun round and swung it shut.
Saw the bus was waiting for me,
I felt I had time to strut!
I climbed aboard and then froze still,
And knew that things weren't right!
My friends fell down in fits of fun,
And pointed with delight!

We had a great match between St. Peters and

travelled on a mini bus to get to St. Peters . We all
had butterflies fluttering in our stomachs.
It was a draw, the first half St. Peters were winning
but tragedy struck! Foxes Piece had redeemed
themselves in the second half by scorring two
goals. Alisha says, “it was a very tricky match, but
we tried our best and just went for it!” Amy
agreedn and added, “it was very fun and we are
glad that we drew.”
Hopefully we can play more netbal matches in the
future!
