The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana is the largest supplier of emergency food assistance for Lake and
Porter counties seeks an Agency/Programs Associate to work full time providing excellent customer
service and administrative support. This position works with staff, clients, volunteers, donors and other
members of the public. Qualifications include 1-2 years’ experience in program support or equivalent
experience, highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications, excellent communication and customer
service skills, excellent attention to detail, able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and unpredictable
environment, and experience USDA food nutrition programs and Primarius integrated food bank
management software strongly preferred.
The Agency/Programs Associate plays a key role in implementing the USDA food nutrition program
called Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES
CSFP


















Responsible for receiving inventory upon delivery of product and storing properly.
Submit BOL’s to state program coordinator with correct information.
Conduct weekly inventory cycle counts; working side by side with Agency/USDA/CSFP Manager.
Oversee CSFP warehouse activities including food deliveries, monthly stock rotation, and proper
disposal of damaged inventory.
Submit monthly orders of product to state program coordinator.
Complete and submit FNS-153 to state program coordinator monthly.
Invoice sites of allocated caseload for each distribution.
Maintain up to date signature sheets for each site.
File proper paperwork, signature sheets, and invoices.
Prepare food box in Primarius; which includes product, quantity, and availability.
Create food box code in Primarius for monthly case load and new product.
Operate fork lift and pallet jack.
Repetitive lifting of up to 60 lbs.
Set-up of product for volunteer packing.
Assist volunteers on-site with packing.
Prepare deliveries for driver.
Assist with delivery of boxes when needed.
Assist Agency/USDA/CSFP Manager with client applications/recertification’s.


Assist Agency/USDA/CSFP Manager with client correspondence regarding eligibility and
termination.
Attend and/or provide trainings as requested.
Agency Development








Regular monitoring of partner agencies.
Assisting Agency/USDA/CSFP Manager maintaining up to date forms in site’s binder.
Assist Agency/USDA/CSFP Manager with annual agency conferences; as needed.
Must be proficient with data entry ability.
Must be proficient with Microsoft work/excel program.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to obtain fork lift certification.
Perform other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS



High School Diploma and or GED Equivalent; 1-2 year experience in program management
Ability to learn and uphold food safety and food defense standards
Professional demeanor and business etiquette
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Warehouse environment: extensive walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling,
lifting and carrying items weighing in excess of 60 pounds; operates material handling equipment;
regularly exposed to variable weather conditions from mild to extreme heat and cold, fumes, air
particles, contact with volunteers and customers; periodically works extended hours.
