$4M, dedicated to family supporting jobs. We are based in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, with offices in Madison and
Minnesota. WRTP/BIG STEP is widely recognized as a national model and is industry recognized as a valuable
workforce development tool.
As a workforce intermediary, we work with organized labor and employers in manufacturing and construction to keep
businesses competitive, preserve family supporting jobs, connect job seekers to those good jobs, help workers build
skills to advance in their careers, and improve business productivity.
WRTP/BIG STEP is unique because we start with the jobs. We work directly with employers and unions to develop
training programs that meet the specific and timely needs of the manufacturing and construction sectors. WRTP/BIG
STEP is a clearinghouse for the assessment, preparation, and placement of job-ready candidates for careers in
manufacturing, construction, and emerging sectors of the economy.
WRTP/BIG STEP offers services to employers and unions as well as community residents looking for careers in
manufacturing and construction. Our services for community residents include apprenticeship preparation tutoring,
training certificate courses in a variety of manufacturing and construction disciplines, referral services, and industry
recognized certifications. We serve as the finishing point before employment.
WRTP/BIG STEP IS HIRING A “CENTER OF EXCELLENCE OPERATIONS COORDINATOR”
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Administration and working closely with program staff and
part time operations staff, CENTER OF EXCELLENCE OPERATIONS COORDINATOR is responsible for coordination
and communication of activities related to Center of Excellence participant flow and front desk operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 Coordinate with program staff related to General Information Sessions, BIG STEP Orientations and other
recruitment and outreach efforts.
 Greeting and directing clients and guests in a professional and consistent manner.
 Understand and communicate programs, enrollment and eligibility process.
 Assisting with program client intake, orientation sessions and client follow up as assigned.
 Accurate Data Entry into the ETO database, Excel spreadsheet and the use of MS Word.
 Compiling spreadsheets for tracking and reporting.
 Assisting with special projects as assigned.
 Maintaining and coordinating the ordering of an adequate office supply stock.
 Oversee Enrollment Solutions Operations through participation in commercial, state, and/or federal programs

Perform clerical and office functions such as, but not limited to answering multiple phones and directing a
wide variety of callers in an accurate and professional manner. General oversight of part time Front Desk staff,
interns, and operations staff, including front desk scheduling and time sheet records.
Coordination and scheduling of meetings and the building schedule. Maintain confidentiality of all agency
files/records, business lists, and contractual agreements.
Represent WRTP and BIG STEP, members, and partners in a professional manner at all times.

Qualifications:
 Must be able to pass federal background check, drug test, credit check, and reference/employment verification.
 Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
 Must be a U.S. Citizen without dual citizenship.
 Workforce Development Program Experience preferred.
 Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent required, Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
 1-3 years prior customer service and/or office management experience preferred.
 Strong oral and written communication required including must have strong telephone and in-person
communication skills and ability to maintain a professional manner at all times.
 Organizational skills and ability to multi task is required.
 Experience using multiple line telephone lines to direct a variety of callers accurately and to take accurate
messages required.
 Solid knowledge of MS Word for Windows, Excel, Outlook, and experience using a database required.
 Ability to articulate program material/information to a wide variety of internal and external audiences.
 Ability to create legibly written and accurately maintained program folders for participants including
collecting personal data.
 Flexible scheduling: Most work will be scheduled from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with availability to work occasional
evenings and weekends.
 Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
 This position requires the ability to regularly sit and write at a computer, stand and lift less than 20 pounds to
stock office supplies, frequently move from room to room to accommodate guests, use a telephone and use a
computer equipment to generate input and output and transmit data.
