RESILIENCE We want all children and young people to engage successfully in
education, develop skills for employment, and choose healthy lifestyles. These strong
protective factors will ensure children and families to have resilience to cope with any
problems they encounter.
PREVENTION: We know we will have more chance of helping children and families if
we identify their problems swiftly and intervene early to support them to regain their
resilience. We want our services to be skilled in identifying families' problems as they
emerge, and break the cycles that make them become entrenched.
PROTECTION: For some children and families we cannot prevent problems escalating
and presenting much greater risks to children's well-being. Taking swift, decisive action
