Year 3- What makes the Earth angry?
LC5:Who experiences
extreme weather in our
country?
WOW: Introduction to topic:
1) Chn will be shown a range of clips from
tsunamis; volcanoes and hurricanes. We will
discuss each clip/ image and share our ideas as
a class.
2) Chn will be presented with a letter from the
Discovery channel boss David Zaslav. This
letter will briefly explain their assignment is to
create a documentary about ‘What makes the
Earth angry’ for younger children.
3) Chn will be given the opportunity to use Ipads
to research extreme weather and present
them to their peers.
4) Chn will create the layers of the earth using
plasticine and explore how the Earth was
formed.

1) Chn will explore the cross-section of
a volcano in order to explore what
