A total yarding of 1368 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on
Thursday.
Steers over 550kg sold to 277c/kg and averaged 269c/kg, while steers in the 400550kg earned to 265c/kg and averaged 247c/kg. Heifers over 450kg sold to 255c/kg
and averaged 235c/kg, while heifers in the 350-450kg sold to 253c/kg and averaged
235c/kg. Cows over 500kg peaked at 229c/kg and averaged 201c/kg, while cows in
the 400-500kg class topped at 216c/kg and averaged 159c/kg. Cows 300-400kg sold
to 161c/kg and averaged 123c/kg. Bulls over 600kg topped at 260c/kg and averaged
219c/kg.
