‘Egyptians’ Topic / Literacy homework
The topic / literacy homework this half term has the central theme of history. One task from the list
should be completed and brought in to school every week by Thursday. In addition, spellings and a
Numeracy homework sheet will be given out every week as normal.
The homework must be completed in the form of learning logs which are a record of the different
tasks listed below. Although some of the things listed are not suitable for putting in your books, a
record of the work done each week must be recorded in Literacy homework books or put in your
homework folder. This could take the form of a photograph or written account of what has been done.
I am happy to assist by printing out work if brought in on a memory stick etc.
To ensure that momentum is maintained with the learning log, each task has been given a points value.
Each child must achieve at least 2 points every week (i.e. they have to complete a task every week).
These points will be added together every week throughout the term and at the end of the term, we
will have a brief presentation for the 5 highest scorers.
As always, please ask if you need any support for any of the activities. Although helpful, internet or
computer access is not necessary to complete all these tasks. There are plenty of books and other
resources in school for you to borrow if needed.
Please note that as we are at the start of the topic we have not covered all of the themes explored in
the activities below. It is suggested that some are saved until we have looked at these in class.
