Adding detail in geo answer

Add the Specifics – activity for geographic writing
Start with a basic sentence on a topic likely to be in the external exam
Eg. The interaction of natural processes in a chosen environment
(Level 3)
Starter sentence: The sand is blown across the beach.
The aim is to build specific information into the sentence, one bit at a
time. Students can pass a sheet between each other or it can be
constructed together on the board. See how much they can add
(without the sentence becoming too convoluted!)
The fine titanomagnetite sand is blown across the beach.
The fine titanomagnetite sand is blown across the beach in a bouncing
motion known as saltation.
The fine titanomagnetite sand is blown across the 100m wide exposed
beach in a bouncing motion known as saltation.
The fine titanomagnetite sand is blown across the 100m wide exposed
beach in a bouncing motion known as saltation when winds reach
sustained speeds of 16km or more.
Give them a second follow-on sentence and repeat the process.
Eg. The sand is trapped by the vegetation.
