All class resources are in the form of electronic materials.
Description:
LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION is a course designed for students entering their third year in an agricultural
science and technology program in public high schools. The course is specifically designed to create an
understanding of animal husbandry and animal systems. The course includes some hands-on aspects of
raising livestock and producing a healthy, safe product for consumers.
Goals:
To create an understanding of animal husbandry and animal systems.
To develop an appreciation of agriculture in high school students.
Requirements:
You are required to maintain a Supervised Agricultural Experience SAE record book relating specifically
to the class.
You also need to bring to class a three-ring binder to keep class notes, handouts, returned work, and your
SAE record book organized and readily available.
Resources:
Available through the Pecos High School Agricultural Science and Technology program is a greenhouse,
an agricultural mechanics laboratory, animal science laboratory, and related use of the World Wide Web.
