My first student teaching placement consisted of seven weeks in a General Education setting in which I
demonstrated my ability to take over all responsibilities of the classroom teacher including planning and
implementing lesson plans, organizing materials, communicating with parents and associates and attending
faculty and team meetings. During this placement, I planned literacy enhancing activities, differentiated
math lessons from the current program, Math Expressions, and created authentic materials to use on the
Smartboard, PC or as handouts.
