Autistic Spectrum/Social
Communication Disorders in the
Early Years
Description:
These interactive half day workshops will prepare early years
staff for children entering the education system with social
language and communication difficulties who may also have an
autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). Increasing pressure is on early
year’s placements to identify ASD as early as possible in order
for children to benefit fully from early intervention. With the
incidence of ASD on the rise and the difference between the
conditions across the spectrum often confusing, these
workshops will discuss pathways to diagnosis, support and
intervention and provide practical resources for working with
children and families affected by ASD in the early years.
