Brisbane City Council is the largest local government in Australia. Our responsibility is
to provide leadership and good governance for the people of Brisbane and to manage
our resources to create a vibrant, successful and livable city for the future. We work in
partnership with governments, peak bodies, industries and community organisations to

Future Council
Council is undergoing significant change as it moves towards a more modern,
professional organisation. The Business and Systems Efficiency (BaSE) Program has
been established to enable better business value through process simplification and
automation.



BaSE is a major focus over the next few years in support of building the future

Council has five divisions and two work groups that help run Brisbane services and
activities, and manage resources. More information about programs and services

Eligibility
To be appointed to a permanent position, you must be an Australian citizen, or have
permanent residency status, or a visa permitting you to work in Australia permanently.
If you have a visa permitting you to work temporarily in Australia, you may be appointed
to a temporary or casual position, providing the work complies with the conditions of
your visa.
Council has a responsibility to ensure that its employees are able to legally work in
Australia. To meet these obligations we follow Department of Immigration
requirements.
Due to the requirements of some roles, a criminal history and/or a working with children
check may be undertaken on preferred applicants. A criminal history does not
necessarily preclude an applicant from appointment.
You may also be required to produce documentary evidence of your qualifications and
professional registration.
