“Rhythm and Vines“
Rhythm and Vines is a three day music event held in Gisborne each year. It takes
place over the New Year period and attracts a wide range of musicians, bands and
concert goers to the region. During this internal assessment you will be analysing the
planning and decision making that occurs in order to make this event run. Impacts of
the events will be explained and evaluated.
Presentation of a report
You must produce a report by answering the questions in this booklet. Your final report
must be a printed version that you submit as a paper copy by the due date.

Scenario
The R and V festival now attracts over 30,000 people each year. These festival goers stay for several
days and increase Gisborne’s population by almost 50%. Initially, in the first few years there were
issues that caused some disruption for local residents and this created some ill feeling. R and V
organisers and the Gisborne City Council worked hard to fix these issues. Today the majority of locals
now support this event.
