Relevance/Rationale: Why are the outcomes of this lesson important in the
real world? Why are these outcomes essential for future learning?
Students need to understand that early Americans
migrated into the United States. When these people came,
they had to adapt to the environment around them.
Adapting is always occurring and students should
understand that certain environments caused differences
in early Americans. Students will understand and be able
to determine which theory of early migration they believe.
SW be able to recognize that even professional scientist
believe certain things based on evidence. This will help
them understand that evidence helps prove a point.
Formative Assessment Criteria for Success: How will you
and your students know if they have successfully met the outcomes? What
specific criteria will be met in a successful product/process? What does
success on this lesson’s outcome look like?
