Welcome to the 2015-16 music year at Bay Port High School!
If you have a student in the band, choir and / or orchestra program at Bay Port, you are a welcome
member of the Bay Port Music Parents Association (BPMPA). Please join us!
What does the BPMPA help with?
 Band, Choir and Orchestra Enrichment; bringing clinicians in to work with our students
 Scholarships for music camps and college
 Celebration parties after concerts, performances, and Awards Night
 Purchasing equipment, software, and other supplies for the Music Department
 Piano tuning for the Music Department and the Performing Arts Center
 Transportation to events like state athletic tournaments, music clinics
 Purchasing awards for solo and ensemble competitions
We help finance these activities and more, which benefit all music students, through our General Fund.
How do we raise money for the General Fund?
We obtain these funds through our General Budget Fundraiser, a one-time donation per year per
student. We are asking that each family contribute $40.00 for each student involved in Band, Choir or
Orchestra. If your student is involved in more than one music program you need only contribute
$40.00 / student. We will also be asking for donations of baked goods from time to time, which will be
sold at various events, including some concerts, theater productions, etc. The proceeds from these sales
will also go into the general fund, to be used for the things listed above. SEE DETAILS BELOW!

Does my student also have an opportunity to raise funds for an individual music account (for
trips, music lessons, instruments, etc.)?
YES, through a separate, voluntary fundraiser, students will continue to have the opportunity to raise
money for their individual music accounts to be used for any personal music expenses, including:
music trip expenses, required shoes, required jewelry, instrument repair, reeds, music lessons,
music for solo / ensemble, etc. Our Fall Fundraiser (including but not limited to fresh fruit, coffee,
Hansen’s products, and Subway Cards), is a great way for your student to raise money for their individual
accounts. This takes place in November 2015 with delivery in time for the Holidays. Each student
receives 100% of their sales profits. *Money from this account is for music related items only – it is not a
personal savings account, so money is not able to be redeemed if not used!
