for the 2014-2015 academic year! Come join an organization dedicated to
transforming the lives of urban students!
Who We Are
Envision Education transforms the lives of students—especially those who will be first in
their family to attend college—by preparing them for success in college, in careers, and in
life.
Vibrant learning communities apply compassion and high expectations to inspire and
empower students. Our approach is specifically designed to increase student engagement,
deepen integration and understanding, promote active learning, and ensure college success.
Envision further distinguishes its campuses with:



Economic, ethnic, and racial diversity,
Rigorous academic discipline, and
Excellence at every level.
Young people quickly become high-performing eager learners by engaging with a rigorous
and creative project-based learning curriculum that is relevant to their lives. Each year our
graduates are accepted to colleges around the country, and once they enroll, they persist
toward their degrees at high rates. Our proven educational model is currently being
adapted for schools across the country through Envision Learning Partners.
Special Education Program at Envision Education
The Department of Special Education’s mission is for students with diverse learning needs
to have access to supports that provide educational opportunity at a rigorous college prep
high school. We believe that special education is a service not a place, and that all students
have the right to be fully included in the general education classrooms with their typical
peers for the greatest extent possible (least restrictive environment). Envision Education is
a founding member of the Statewide Charter SELPA and each Envision School is a Local
Education Agency (LEA), providing the continuum of services to meet the needs of students
with identified learning needs through our Learning Centers. Students receive high quality
services from a team of innovative professionals who possess an unwavering belief in
success for each student and who share their knowledge of current research and practice.
A Learning Center facilitated by the Special Education team serves as the school site experts
in intervention. Within our community of professional practice, the role of Learning
Specialist is that of collaborator, co-teacher, and coach. With opportunities to provide
professional development, provide support to develop Response to Intervention (RTI), and
collaborate with general education staff, the position of Learning Specialist is uniquely
positioned for leadership development and growth within the organization.
Envision Education is looking for passionate Special Educators who are interested in being
part of this innovative model and have a desire to support learning and post-secondary
success for all students in the urban communities of the Bay area.
