Responsibility The Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee is responsible for providing guidance to the Algonquin Negotiation Representatives on issues pertaining to: -specific initiatives undertaken within the Settlement Area. The Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee will be available as a resource to the Algonquins of Ontario providing insights and guidance on planning opportunities within the Settlement Area that are being pursued by the Algonquin Negotiation Representatives. As much as practicable, the membership will reflect the diversity of Algonquin of Ontario communities. The Champlain Trail Museum and Heritage Village in Pembroke will host the event June 13, 14, 15 and 16, 2013. With input from a few community members, Council has decided that because of disrespect for the Algonquins by those who followed Champlain during the last 400 years, we will not celebrate Champlain. We will attend the event and will use the occasion to educate the public of, and to celebrate, our history and our on-going existence as Algonquin People.
