Unigen Corporation Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
We are committed to upholding the human rights of our employees, treating them with dignity
and respect and complying with all applicable laws and regulations, including the prevention of human
trafficking and slavery. This applies to all of our employees including temporary, migrant, student,
contract, direct employees, and any other type of employee.
We also contractually require our suppliers to comply with current labor and ethics laws and
regulations.
Risk Assessment
We screen suppliers to identify and evaluate human trafficking and slavery risks. This includes
geographic location, manufacturing processes, history of human trafficking and slavery in the
region, and the U.S. Dept. of Labor’s list of goods identified as vulnerable to forced labor.
Audits
Depending on the screening results, Unigen may require a third-party to conduct an on-site
audit of the supplier’s operations to evaluate their compliance with our standards and
applicable laws and regulations, including the prevention of human trafficking and slavery.
These audits, depending on the results, may be announced or unannounced.
Certification
We require our suppliers to certify that their materials comply with applicable laws and
regulations, including the prevention of human trafficking and slavery.
Accountability
In the event we discover a supplier is breaching the terms in our contract requiring our suppliers
to comply with current labor and ethics laws and regulations, including prevention of human
trafficking and slavery, we may take immediate action up to and including termination of the
contract. We may take less extensive actions, when appropriate, if the supplier promptly alters
their operations to comply with our contract and the applicable laws and regulations.
Training
We train managers and employees, especially those involved in supplier management, to
implement our policies and ensure we meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements,
including the prevention of human trafficking and slavery. We also train these employees on
how to evaluate and ensure our suppliers’ compliance with these same applicable laws and
regulations.
We ensure our suppliers have access to our company standards located in our Code of Conduct
