Part 1- General

SECTION INCLUDES
All equipment’s and devices needed for the installation for a complete DALI Addressable Lighting
Control System will use DALI as the communication protocol and I.P. BACnet protocol between all
controls panels. The system is base on the Cristal Controls DALI Lighting controls Solutions.

Electrical contractor shall coordinate all the work in this section with all the trade cover in other
sections of the specification to provide a complete and operable system.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
2.1 Install a complete a system using the DALI protocol (DALI) Stand for Digital Addressable Lighting
Interface). The DALI system is an IEC 60929 (Latest version) International recognized standard. DALI as
an open protocol is the communication method to communicate between fixtures and accessories on a
DALI loop, accessories such as local user interfaces (DALI wall switches), scene controllers, motion
sensors, vacancy sensors, daylight sensors, 0-10 Vdc input Interface, standard low voltage switches or
standard motion sensors multi input interface, touch bolt multi input interface or shade controllers shall be
DALI.

SCOPE OF WORK
3.1 The specification details the minimal performance level of the DALI Addressable Lighting Control
System. Supply all materials, accessories, commissioning, installation, labour and warranty, to deliver a
functional DALI Addressable Lighting Control System. The system consist of intelligent luminaries supply
with DALI Ballast (see recommended manufacturer under ballast section). Communication wiring, DALI
control panel series CCDL including DALI network transformer, I.P. to DALI gateway, relay panels series
CCLP, local user interfaces (DALI wall switches), scene controllers, touch screens, motion sensors,
vacancy sensors, daylight sensors 0-10 Vdc input Interface and shade controllers.
3.2 Cristal Controls JASPER web base client application shall be a Cristal Controls MCU (master control
unit) located in one of the electrical room. The MCU is a industrial ‘’Embedded PC with flash memory and
license free Linux Operating System. Systems that require OS software installation on the users
computers or license fees and regular service packs for security measures shall not be acceptable.

3.3 Follow manufacturer installation instructions and drawings as an insurance of a quality installation.

MATERIAL
4.1 DALI CONTROL PANEL (CCLD) typical (CCLD) are Nema-1 panel with door lock, including one or
many I.P. to DALI loop controller, DALI Loop power transformers, terminal for 120-1 or 277-1 power
supply necessary step down protected transformer, DALI loop terminal. Refer to system riser for exact
CCLD model number.
4.2 User interfaces (DALI wall switches) and scenes controller’s series CC-130 are customizable DALI
user interfaces that allow local control of the system SS wall plate included. Each module is fitted with
LED indicator and an optional infrared receiver for remote operation using CC-RDIM hand held remote
controls. Refer to legend and plans for exact quantities and model and color.
Or Standard WR8001 Low Voltage switches with DALI input controller.
4.3 Touch screens series CC-924 3,5 ‘’ high resolution screen touch sensitive 65,000 colors LCD screen
to controls and program local DALI system. Built in Astronomical clock, automatic scene changing
(sequences and cycles), integral RF receiver, and external supply from CCLD Panel, wall box and SS wall
plate included. Refer to legend and plans for exact quantities and model.
Option:
4.4 Motion sensors series AU or ATD adaptive type connected to DALI input controller.
4.5 Multi sensor series CC-312 is a compact unit featuring: programmable constant light, presence
detection, and IR receiver for local setting. Refer to legend and plans for exact quantities and model.
Ballasts:
4.6 Ballasts the following manufacture are accepted as Ballast supplier. For an optimal performance it is
recommended that luminaries, ballast and tubes be from the same manufacturer.

Refer to legend and plans for exact quantities and model. All DALI fixtures shall be supply with factory
installed and wire quick connect for power and DALI loop.
4.7 Operator computer. An all in one HP computer with Window’s will be supply for the daily operation of
the system, the computer need the latest Explorer, Safari, Firefox or Chrome Web navigator to visualize
building graphical floor plans,

5.0 JASPER MCU
Cristal Controls JASPER is web base client software is the Cristal Controls MCU (master control unit)
located in one of the electrical room including terminal for 120-1 power supply. The MCU is an industrial
‘’Embedded PC with flash memory and license free Linux Operating System. Systems that require OS
software installation on the users computers or license fees and regular service packs for security
measures are not be acceptable,
5.1 Jasper includes the following functions: User access includes network management, lighting group
assignments and activation, event scheduling and system diagnostics,
Jasper runs on an Open network protocol base on BACnet using the ‘’DATA SERVER’’ as a central
control unit. Web pages for all programming, monitoring and user operations are through WEB 2.0
minimizing factory training and end user learning curve. The interface is a series of intuitive web pages to
system data and allow the user to view and modify all lighting data, Jasper software integrate with DALI
open protocol and devices (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) trough Cristal CCDL (DALI loop panel)
from these CCLD panel the following functions are available:









Individual ballasts control,
Individual Accessories control,
2 way communication for status and alarm (System, Power, Lamp or Ballast failure), hours of
operation on each Ballast, energy used per Ballast,
Lamp level adjustment base on Energy monitoring,
Open communication with the BAS system,
Action form a contact of Fire and Alarm system,
Light scenes creation and operation,
Per loop, 64 addresses, 16 groups, 16 light scenes, stand by mode,
Min (1% to 5 % upon Ballast manufacturer) and max (100%) dimming level fade time and rate
upon ballast manufacturer specifications.
5.2 Jasper shall include the following functions:
5.2.1 User access includes network management, lighting group assignments and activation,
event scheduling and system diagnostics,
5.2.2 Open protocol base on BACnet using the ‘’DATA SERVER’’ as a central control unit. Web
pages for all programming and user operations shall be through WEB 2.0 minimizing factory
training and end user learning curve. The interface shall be a series of intuitive web pages to
system data and allow the user to view and modify all lighting data,
5.2.3 Jasper shall offer the creation of virtual Master or local switches, panel logic identification,
Group creation,
5.2.4 Jasper Scheduler feature shall allow the user to schedule unlimited numbers of events over
a thirty years period, Multiple Calendars including (unlimited holiday’s creation, special events or
exceptions). Jasper Scheduler as a basic astronomical clock, using either a main North American
city list to set up the virtual astronomical clock, or a North American postal code if the unit is
connected to Internet, or simply enter le system location longitude and latitude.

5.2.6 With an Internet connection Jasper allows free updates base on fix set up at the time of
installation. Jasper shall be accessible from any computer on the Intranet using Explorer, Safari,
Fire Fox or Chrome. The access will provided by one or multiple user names and Pass word.
5.2.7 Jasper offer hierarchical password protection can be activated to limit access to selected
web pages,
5.2.8 Jasper software integrate with DALI Digital and 0-10Vdc dimming devices and DALI daylight
harvesting devices,

6.0 SHOP DRAWINGS
6.1 Submit all drawings and products data in accordance with section XXXXX of the present
specifications,
6.2 Represent the system riser including detailed loops connections; include wire size and model,

6.5 All accessories data sheet, (Motion sensors, lux sensors, user interfaces (wall switch), scene
controller, CCDL, CCLP panel and Jasper MCU panel,
6.6 Step by step installer training prior to installation, (minimum 6 hours) including an on site
components identification method
6.7 Commissioning procedure including 5 site visits;





First visit for installer training prior to installation
Second visit to review the first floor installation
Third visit test all DALI loop and components
Fourth visit Installer shall confirm in writing a commissioning date
(Depending on the size of the project manufacturer will confirm how many days
are needed to finalized this step) all system shall be connected and operational,
Sequence of operation shall be know, if the system shall be connected to BAS
arrangement with BAS shall be made prior to that final visit.
Fifth visit owner training shall be XXX hours.

7.0 WARRANTY
7.1 Warranty Cristal standard 2 years warranty (parts and on site labour) after system acceptance,
during this period Cristal will open a phone service during normal working days for the system operator.
Extended services contract are available including 24/7 assistance (separate price can be added with the
tender submission).
