Creative Interns Programme:
Gallery Programming Intern
Edinburgh Printmakers offers excellent opportunities throughout the year to
gain valuable knowledge, skills and experience through internship
programmes in both the gallery and the print studio.
This vacancy is only available through Creative Interns programme.
Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria. Application can only be made

Organisational Edinburgh Printmakers is an open-access printmaking studio

whose mission is to support artistic excellence in the medium
of print through inspiration, education, innovation and
facilitation. We manage a renowned exhibitions and publishing
programme, and work with hundreds of international and
Scottish artists to produce engaging artwork that is key to the
cultural life of Scotland. We have a membership of 400 artists
who use our on-site facilities and make up our community.
Past projects include artists Peter Blake, William Kentridge,
Jeremy Deller, Scott Myles, Jake & Dinos Chapman and
forthcoming projects include work by Calum Colvin, Rachel
Maclean, Carol Rhodes, and Louise Hopkins.

Working under the supervision of our Head of Sales and

Development and other key staff the postholder will assist in
the co-ordination of an ambitious programme of gallery and
education events to effectively engage with audiences, artists,
and other organisations around a number of key projects to
help build long term, sustainable partnerships . They will gain
knowledge and experienece of: - Knowledge of contemporary
printmaking - Contemporary arts market - Exhibition project coordination - Events management - Artistic programming
research skills - Arts administration skills - Art handling Exhibition installation - Art sales - Customer service - Minute
taking - Basic desktop publishing - ICT skills - Artist liaison -
Finance administration Assisting on the development of the
following projects: Solo exhibitions; Bronwen Sleigh Rachel
Maclean Carol Rhodes Louise Hopkins Calum Colvin Nana
Shiomi Kiki Smith Group exhibitions; The Written Image Poster
Prints from the Berman Collection Fly me to the moon
Abstracting from Architecture Events; Lecture programme
Creative feedback sessions programme Printmaking seminar

Person
Essential: Qualified in an arts related subject to degree level
Specification Interest, knowledge and appreciation of contemporary artistic
practice Ability to communicate clearly in both written and oral
form Ability to operate efficiently in a range of different
situations and to communicate to a broad range of people with
confidence Emotional and social intelligence Organisation
skills Time management skills Customer services experience
Desirable: Previous experience volunteering for an arts
organisation. Retail experience
