Dear NRCs Water Quantity and Water Quality,
Dear members of the Strategic Coordination Group and Working Group Floods, (email addresses in
Bcc, but directly addressed to you)
Dear National focal points and NRC Water Emission, (in cc)
Dear colleagues in cc,
(apologies if you receive this mail several times due to overlapping membership of the different
groups we send this
The EEA wants to consult you on a draft report on “Flood Risk: The vulnerability of floodplains and the
environmental impacts of flood protection measures”.
While touching the social and economic impacts of flooding as well, this draft EEA report wants to
focus on the environmental importance of floodplains, their status, pressures affecting them and
management options as well as the link between the floods directive, the WFD and nature directives.
Also some sectoral policies and issues like financing and governance are described.
From today until Tuesday 13 October 2015 the draft report and the tool to provide your comments
can be found at: http://forum.eionet.europa.eu/nrc-eionet-freshwater/library/country-review-2015flood-risk-report/
(click here for a direct link to the pdf version)
All those of you having an Eionet account can login in to the talkback consultation to provide
comments.
Members of the CIS WFD-FD strategic coordination group and the working group floods will receive a
second email so they are able to login and comment directly in the consultation tool (via the Eionet
system so please check your spam box if you didn’t receive it by 11 September). We apologize if you
already have an Eionet account: in that case you can ignore our automatic email and use your Eionet
account instead.
Every section starts with a place where you can leave general comments, but we prefer all specific
comments in the paragraph they belong to.
Some of the sections are empty, like the executive summary and the reading guidance, and will be
developed for the final version, as well as the checking of all references and redrawing all figures and
maps.
Can we have your special attention for some sections, like 3.3.2 on climate change, 3.3.4 on pollution
or 5.3 on coordination conclusions, where we hope some of you can provide us with additional input.
This is marked in yellow in the pdf and in the talkback consultation.
Please don’t hesitate to come back to me with further questions (Wouter.vanneuville@eea.europa.eu).
Best regards,
Wouter
