Job purpose


To co-ordinate delivery of the year 3 and 4 PMC courses by GP teachers;
To deliver appropriate staff development activities, to assist with curriculum development

To contribute to activities within the Medical Education Development Unit and Faculty of
Medicine.
Key accountabilities/primary responsibilities









Recruitment, management and staff development of GP teachers of the

BM4 year 1 and year 2 semester 1 and BM5 year 5 PMC placements
Overview and coordination of the curriculum in the relevant modules
above.
Organisation and delivery of student assessment on these modules.
Planning and delivery of general GP staff development courses.
Work with the PMC teachers to review and develop future student GP
experience throughout all 5 years of the course.
Course evaluation and responding to student issues.
Attendance at the PMC teaching working group and appropriate
meetings for the relevant modules (such as year steering groups),
faculty and other MEDU events where possible
Contribution to teaching, assessment and development of other areas of
the BM Curricula as appropriate.
Internal and external relationships



Liaison with other related module, year and Programme leads and other teaching members of
the Faculty of Medicine.
Liaison with Faculty administrative staff, to ensure efficient and timely administration.
Liaison with outside people and agencies involved in medical education
Special Requirements


Ability to work flexibly – as role will require some sessions on a Monday and Tuesday and
Thursday.
The postholder will need to be available at University campus (Highfield) at least one session a
week and must be contactable as needed during the working week.
