Promotion Directions for teachers of Institute of Lighting and Energy Photonics of National Chiao Tung
University
Adopted in 99th academic year by the 4th Institute Teacher Evaluation Committee of Institute of Lighting and Energy Photonics May.05.2011
Approved in 99th academic year by the 3rd College Teacher Evaluation Committee of College of Photonic May.05.2011
1. The policy is made according to “Operating regulations for teacher’s promotion audit” and “Promotion
Directions for teachers of College of Photonic”
2. The points of the journal papers for promotion in the Institute are calculated as below:
The points are calculated according to the SCI Ranking Factor (RF) of the published works in related
academic area:
a. SCI RF ≤ 0.25……………………………………………3 points(Class A)
b. SCI RF between 0.5(including) to 0.25……..2.0 points(Class B)
c. SCI RF over than 0.5………………………………...1.0 points(Class C)
The period of the SCI Ranking Factor being taken into account yearly is from the date when the applicant
took the current position to the calculating expiration date of the journal in the promoting year. The
applicant could choose the year to get the SCI Ranking Factor or the average data during the past five
years.
3. The reference table of the points got from optoelectronics journals emphasized by the Institute (the points’
calculating is based on the table instead of NO.2 in this policy).
