Local Conservation Group Seeks New Members
(CITY, State) - People who value the outdoors and our country’s hunting heritage are invited to
join the (Chapter name) Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) for a meeting
in (City), (Date).
NWTF volunteers introduce more than 100,000 people to the outdoors every year through local
JAKES, Women in the Outdoors and Wheelin’ Sportsmen events for youth, women and people
with disabilities. They’re also the driving force in fundraising. Volunteers have hosted thousands
of fundraising events and helped conserve 17 million acres of critical wildlife habitat since the
NWTF was founded in 1973.
Everything NWTF has accomplished is a testament to teamwork and commitment to the
organization’s mission. Every milestone was made possible by this family of devoted volunteers.
Now, NWTF is looking for additional volunteers to help achieve the goals set forth by its
national Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative.
Nationwide, each NWTF volunteer and chapter supports the Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt.
initiative’s three goals: create 1.5 million hunters, conserve and enhance 4 million acres of
wildlife habitat and open 500,000 acres of hunting access in the next 10 years.
Our nation loses 6,000 acres of critical upland habitat each day. That’s 2.2 million acres – an
area the size of Yellowstone National Park – every year. Habitat loss has been the main factor in
the national number of wild turkeys decreasing by 15 percent.
Healthy habitat and hunting go hand in hand. Hunting is vital for the health of wildlife and
habitat because hunters fund conservation. Wild turkeys, and the management and hunting that
go with them, contribute $2 billion to the American economy each spring.
You’re invited to support the NWTF’s outreach and education focus, provide more outdoors
opportunities, recruit more hunters, and create a culture that enjoys time spent outside breathing
fresh air.

The NWTF Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative is a charge that mobilizes science,
fundraising and devoted volunteers to give the NWTF more energy and purpose than ever.
Through this national initiative, NWTF has committed to raising $1.2 billion to conserve or
enhance more than 4 million acres of essential upland wildlife habitat, create at least 1.5 million
hunters and open access to 500,000 acres for hunting, shooting and outdoor enjoyment. Without
hunters, there will be no wildlife or habitat. The NWTF is determined to Save the Habitat. Save
