 Taking part in events organized by AIESEC such as BALAKALAKKAR where a day of fun and

Design and Analysis static and thermal stress on a Shell and tube heat
exchanger
Final year project – 8th
Semester
Designed a 3D model of a industrial type shell and tube heat exchanger typically made to transfer heat
between chemicals and water.
 With certain boundary conditions performed the static stress analysis occurring due to heat transfer
between the fluids. From this was able to determine the point of maximum stress in the heat
exchanger and proposed changes to the structure.
 With same boundary conditions fluid analysis was also performed and from this was able to
determine exact increase in heat transfer coefficient of fluid due to presence of baffles in the
structure.

Won 2nd prize in Beat the Clock in Aarush 2010. SRM university TECH fest
Won consololation prize in Junkyard wars in IIT –M TECH fest.
Won 1sy prize in Mayhem madness – for being AIESECer with maximum Raises, Matches and
Realizations (RMR) during the month of May-2011.
