The registration must be done within the registration period, specified in the Academic Calendar and shall be the first week of each semester.
At the beginning of each semester, at announced dates the students make selection of courses after payment of the education fee for the semester;
Students make the course selection with assistance of their advisors, who approve the registration of the courses;
The students, who fail to complete the registration on time due to justified reasons, may register with the approval of the Rectorate, upon written
request; However, ‘Late Registration Fee’ will be applied;
If a student fails to renew the registration for one month of the respective term, his/her registration will be frozen; The frozen semester will be
counted as a semester within the maximum allowed education period of 8 years;
Students who do not register in any semester of the current academic year can renew the semester at the beginning of the following year with the
decision of the Rectorate; If a student fails to renew the registration for two or more semesters, the University (Rectors Board) reserves the right to
terminate student’s contract upon the proposal of Faculty Council.
Course Registration form is filled in 3 copies, one for student, one for advisor and one from Student Affairs Office; Course Registration Forms have to
be stamped and signed by the Student’s Affairs Officer; If any form that does not have signatures from related authorities and does not have
university stamp will not be valid.
Every student may register 6 courses (30 ECTS) per semester; Students who have failed course shall not be allowed to register any advanced course;
Registering courses from upper semesters is allowed starting from the third semester; At the end of first academic year, students who have no failed
course and whose GPA (Grade Point Average) is 90 and above (according to 100 point system) may register up to 9 courses (up to 45 ECTS); 3 courses
may be missing courses or advanced courses from next academic year; Students whose GPA is between 80-89 (according to 100 point system) and
who have no failed course may register up to 8 courses (up to 40 ECTS); 2 courses may be missing courses or advanced courses from next academic
year; Students whose GPA is between 70-79 (according to 100 point system) may register up to 7 courses (up to 35 ECTS); Priority should be given to
failed courses, if any; If not, to missing course (no advance course will be allowed).
Students are obliged to attend at least 72% (10 weeks out of 14 weeks) of lectures, exercises, and other activities; The attendance rule for failed nonoverlapping courses is 57% (8 weeks) and for overlapping courses is %36 (5 weeks); The attendance rule for courses from upper semester is 57% (8
weeks); Students are not obliged to attend the course if the course is double repeated.
In order to attend a second study program, student must have the GPA minimum 80 according to 100 point system and no failed courses; The
students who attend second study program must fulfill the attendance criteria of 72% for non-overlapping courses, and 57% for overlapping courses;
The students who attend second study program are allowed to register maximum 9 different courses (up to 45 ECTS), in grand total from both study
programs; The students following the second study program are allowed to register advance courses from the upper semesters, based on GPA criteria.
