DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM:
This EC incorporates all modifications and additions made to the DOCSIS 3.1 PHY I01 specification. Changes
were made in many sections of the specification.
Changes to the D3.1 PHY I01 incorporated in this version 1 omnibus ECR include but are not necessarily limited to
the following:





























Updated 3 Terms and Definitions: active subcarrier, carrier-to-noise ratio, dynamic range window,
encompassed spectrum, frame (removed), group delay variation, guard band modulated spectrum, occupied
bandwidth, OFDMA frame, PHY link channel frame, roll-off period, symbol duration, unused subcarrier,
zero valued minislot (removed).
Updates to 4 Abbreviations and Acronyms: µs, DC (removed), MSM, RP
Updates to 6.2 PHY Sublayer for SC-QAM: Upstream Transmit and receive: references to SC-QAM –
only requirements from DOCSIS 3.0 PHY specifications.
Updated 7.2.5 Channel Band Rules: downstream channel bandwidth rules, downstream exclusion band
rules, upstream channel bandwidth rules.
