Abstract
Malaria can be diagnosed with certainty by the direct examination of blood for the malarial
parasite. This can be done best by examining thick blood films. But thick blood films as
prepared conventionally have significant drawbacks and are not used as commonly as they
should be. A new modification of the technique of preparing thick blood films is described
which significantly eliminates the drawbacks inherent in the conventional method.
